We had the privilege of sharing an emotional and very important occasion at the unveiling of a Memorial in remembrance of those who have died because of their exposure to asbestos. The event took place in Barking town square on 28th April 2022. Our support manager, Jodie Bull, spoke alongside MP for Dagenham and Rainham, Jon Cruddas, Sam Gurney Secretary, of the London, East and South East Regional TUC and Susan Aitouaziz Secretary Barking Dagenham and Havering Trades Union Council.
Jodie had the opportunity to talk about the charity and the work we do for sufferers as well as the AVSGF UK campaign against CAPE #CapeMustPay. The Body Blow project by Ilona Sagar was shown at the buffet lunch and there is a permanent memorial book in the town hall for anyone who would like to complete a tribute.
