Secondary Exposure to Asbestos Campaign
London Asbestos Support would like to highlight and support the campaign raised by Lorna Webster, Partner in Hodge Jones & Allen Solicitors Asbestos and Mesothelioma team, against the unfairness to people who suffer from mesothelioma, as a result of secondary exposure to asbestos. Secondary exposure can be a result of women who washed their husband's work overalls, or children (now adults) who hugged their fathers when he came home from work with asbestos dust on him.
Iris Craddock was a victim of this. She died from mesothelioma which she contracted from washing her husband's asbestos contaminated work clothes. Unfortunately, the law was against Iris, and now her family, in securing compensation.
This campaign aims to put a compensation scheme in place which will make payments to mesothelioma sufferers affected by secondary exposure to asbestos.
