Action Mesothelioma Day 2026 – Canterbury Service in Recognition
On Friday 3rd July, the London Asbestos Support Awareness Group held our annual Action Mesothelioma Day Service in Recognition in the beautiful Eastern Crypt at Canterbury Cathedral.
It was a moving afternoon as families, friends, supporters, healthcare professionals and colleagues came together to remember those we have lost to mesothelioma, honour those living with the disease, and stand in solidarity with everyone whose lives have been affected by asbestos.
We were privileged to hear heartfelt readings, reflections and personal stories that reminded us why continued awareness, support and the pursuit of justice remain so important. The service also provided an opportunity to pause, reflect and remember in a setting of peace and dignity.
Following the service, guests gathered for afternoon tea, giving everyone the chance to reconnect, share memories and support one another.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, took part in the service, helped with the organisation, and to Canterbury Cathedral for hosting us in such a beautiful and welcoming venue.
Together, we continue to remember, support and raise awareness.
