On Action Mesothelioma Day Asbestos Charities around the UK recognise sufferers of mesothelioma. The Asbestos Victims Support Group Forum UK (AVSGF) released a Press Release on 5th July 2024.
London Asbestos Support Awareness Group, Chair David Ellis and Chairperson of the AVSGF, says:
‘There have been some important developments in mesothelioma research
identifying ways in which the treatment of mesothelioma might be radically improved.
However, without sustained and vastly increased funding novel treatments will not be
developed at pace. That is why mesothelioma sufferers and their families have
written to Ran Oren, CEO Altrad, asking him to restart discussions with AVSGF
about a substantial donation for mesothelioma research. They deserve a positive
response.’

In solidarity, The Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union (AMWU) supported the global CAPE MUST PAY campaign by the Asbestos Victims Support Group Forum UK
"The AMWU supports a call for all those who profited from asbestos and the misery and death that followed, to be held to account and to fund proper compensation for negligently exposing people to the known carcinogen asbestos."
