We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Lorraine Wickham who has recently taken the challenge of a 50 mile bike ride to raise funds for our charity and to raise awareness of asbestos related illnesses which are caused due to asbestos exposure.
Sadly, Lorraine's father Ken, was diagnosed with mesothelioma in May 2025. Our Client Support Advisor, Denise Hodges has provided much needed, vital support to Ken and his family since his shock diagnosis. Ken expressed "I would like to say a massive thankyou to Denise and everyone at the London Asbestos Support Awareness Group in general for all the help and support that I have been given".
Lorraine said "So tomorrow is my 50 mile charity ride for the wonderful charity London Asbestos Support Awareness group. They are a wonderful charity that are little known of, but do a fantastic job in helping and supporting patients like my dad with this terrible disease. I would like to thank everyone who has sponsored me so far from the bottom of my heart, it means so much to me. Thankyou. If anyone has it in their hearts to sponsor me on my longest ever ride, I would really appreciate it. I have attached a link to my just giving page"

Lorraine completed her 50 mile bike challenge on 16th August 2025 and has raised £420.00 plus £76.25 in gift aid, for which we are very grateful.
On the day Lorraine received lots of support, encouragement and well wishes from friends and family members including her father Ken. Lorraine even had a chance to stop into to see her mum and dads for a well earned cup of tea and honey sandwiches!
Thank you again Lorraine, you support means so much to us, we will continue to support Ken and his family through his mesothelioma journey and beyond.
