We offer a FREE confidential service

London Asbestos Support Awareness Group is committed to supporting sufferers of Mesothelioma, Asbestosis, Plural Thickening and other asbestos-related conditions with a person centred approach.  


The work we do at our non-profit charity is aimed at providing support in the way of one to one support, support groups (face to face & zoom), providing information and offering advice and support with the type of benefits you are entitled to including government and legal compensation schemes you may be entitled to. 

We also offer friendship groups for friends and family members to help build a social, supportive network. Our support workers are all DBS checked for extra peace of mind.

Our support workers will assess your condition and the type of asbestos disease you have been diagnosed with to work out the most appropriate benefits personal to you. Many sufferers find this a daunting task, therefore our support workers will complete these with you. 

Benefits you may be entitled to are:

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB)

Attendance Allowance (AA over 65's)

Constant Attendance Allowance (CAA)

Personal Independence Payment (PIP under 65's)

Employment Support Allowance (ESA)

Diffuse Mesothelioma Scheme 2008

Our team is very diverse and is experienced in supporting sufferers of Mesothelioma and other asbestos related diseases. 

Our staff all have the skills, professionalism, knowledge and empathy that is expected to deliver a first class service to sufferers at all times. Our team is continually upskilling and trained to ensure their professional and personal development is of a high standard.


Head of Service

Jodie joined the charity in 2021 and has worked in the Healthcare industry for over 15 years managing services in the South East. She started her career as a daily carer before being promoted to Area Live In Care Manager for Essex, Suffolk and Cambridge.


Jodie was responsible for CQC and company compliance, ensuring carers were fully trained to a high standard of care, carrying out home assessments for safety, environment and equipment plans, creating and monitoring of patient care plans and managing an extremely large team of carers. Her experience in supporting patients in the community ranges from conditions such as COPD, Motor Neurone Disease, several types of Cancer, Parkinson's Disease and the early stages of Dementia through to end of life care.

Jodie has experience of working with Social Services, District Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Doctors, discharge planning teams and specialists. She has trained in first aid training, manual handling training and has completed her First Response Emergency Care Level 3. 

Jodie then expanded her knowledge and experience into the private Ambulance sector as an Operations Manager, where she was responsible for team rotas, patient transfer planning, ambulance compliance and the smooth running of the operations team.

Jodie has a passionate caring nature and her clients, valued staff and Volunteers are always her priority.


The London Asbestos Support Awareness Group was set up by The Hazards Centre Trust Limited, a registered charity, established in 1984 and obtained independent charity status in 2017. 

We provide practical and emotional support to anyone affected by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related conditions, operating across London and the South East including neighbouring counties of Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Oxford. 


 Our trustees have been carefully selected and represent a diverse group with significant knowledge and experience of governance within the charity sector, as well as leading caring organisations and in campaigning for those suffering and in need of help and care.

We are proud to be network members and advice group members of the 

Asbestos Victims Support Group Forum UK.  As members of the Forum we are committed to campaigning on local, national and international issues that affect asbestos victims and their families.
